The Power of the Falls: Edgewater’s Restaurant
The setting is both idyllic and magnificent. From the panoramic comfort of the Edgewater Restaurant you’ll experience the falls as they undergo a remarkable transformation from day to night. Situated in a beautiful park setting, the Edgewater’s fun and relaxed atmosphere is perfect for sharing the company of your peers, enjoying great food, and reveling in an evening of music and entertainment. Staff from Casino Niagara will also be on hand with ‘Learn to Play’ sessions, giving you the opportunity to try your luck at a variety of thrilling games. Journey Behind the Falls
At ‘Journey Behind the Falls’, you'll experience the awesome spectacle of one-fifth of the world’s fresh water crashing down to the basin below, with 2,800 cubic meters of water thundering in front of you every second, travelling 65 kilometers per hour!
Your ‘Journey Behind the Falls’ visit will take 30 to 45 minutes, and you'll receive a free souvenir biodegradable rain poncho as protection from the mist of the Falls. Elevators descend 150 feet through bedrock to tunnels leading to the Cataract Portal and the Great Falls Portal, one third of the way behind the massive sheet of water. You then walk on to the Upper and Lower Observation Decks at the very foot of the Falls.
This extraordinary’ experience takes place before dinner. Once your tour is complete, you’ll join the rest of your colleagues at the restaurant for cocktails.
Illumination Tower
Every evening, beginning at dusk, the Falls are lit in the colours of the rainbow. Since 1925, Illumination of the Falls has been operated by The Niagara Falls Illumination Board.
Currently a total of 21 Xenon lights are used to illuminate the Falls. In 1998, 18 new lights replaced older lamps and fixtures at the Illumination tower, doubling the intensity of the lights on the Falls without doubling the hydro bills. Each Xenon spotlight illuminating the Falls at night has a brilliance of 250,000,000 candlepower.
The Illumination Tower is located steps away from the restaurant. Groups of 15 people will be escorted at staggered times throughout the evening, where each group will have the opportunity to assist in changing the colour of the lights that illuminates the falls.
